Pourquoi?

Mon grand père, qui était forgeron, passait des heures à fabriquer des outils pour se faciliter la réalisation de tâches complexes ou répétitives. J’étais fasciné par sa forge qui était une sorte de musée de l’ingéniosité artisanale. La révolution numérique est de la même manière fascinante car elle permet de développer une nouvelle sorte d’artisanat qui s’approprie certaines capacités de l’industrie avec une souplesse incomparable..
Dans la même optique, Simplement cherche à développer librement et partager certaines recherches et expérimentations dans la continuité de mon travail de designer.
L’auto-édition devient un prolongement de mon travail créatif et me permet de partager la genèse du projet de la création à la fabrication.

Pourquoi utiliser plus de ressources quand on peut reformuler un projet et conserver son essence et sa qualité avec des moyens raisonnables?
Lors de voyages, je suis souvent admiratif de l’économie de moyen qu’imaginent certains peuples pour répondre à leurs besoins. Tel un ressemeleur au Rwanda qui recyclait les bottes en caoutchouc avec seulement une lame chauffée ou les habitants du Ladakh dans l’Himalaya indien qui ne se chauffent durant leurs longs hivers aux températures polaires qu’avec la bouse de leurs yaks qu’ils collectent l’été.
Il est parfois compliqué de faire les choses simplement, mais les outils numériques permettent des créations de qualité avec des moyens limités.

When traveling, I often admire the economy of means that some people imagine to meet their needs. Like a ripper in Rwanda who recycled the rubber boots with only a heated blade or the inhabitants of the Ladakh in the Indian Himalaya who only get warm during their long winters at polar temperatures with the dung of their yaks that they collect in the summer. Sometimes it's complicated to simplify, but digital tools allow quality creations with limited means.
